Aloha Fresh: Hawaiian Poke Comes to Cupertino

January 26, 2016 | sack

In Hawaii, poke is a pretty common dish. It's a type of raw tuna salad featuring fresh pink colors and plenty of flavor. At Aloha Fresh, a few friends from Hawaii sought to bring poke and anxiously awaiting group of diners to Cupertino—and it seems they've done so with great success.

Situated less than two miles from Fountain Park, Aloha Fresh turns poke into a quick-serve meal. Simply step up to the counter and let the staff member helping you know what you'd like in your bowl. First, of course, you'll have to pick your style of poke. You can go with the traditional, simply seasoned Hawaiian poke, or something even more exotic like the Chinese black bean poke, which features house-cured salmon. Locals recommend the Lomi Lomi Lox. Then choose your side or rice (or black rice for an extra fee) or salad. Then, dig in!
