Campo Azul Bar & Mexican Grill is a secret gem in Round Rock for authentic Mexican food.  This little cantina is family owned and operated and offers an enjoyable dining experience.  There is rarely a wait and customers appreciate the prompt, friendly service.  The menu is small in comparison to most Mexican restaurants, but dishes are made with fresh ingredients – including the homemade tortillas.  A customer favorite and house specially is the Mocajate; a mix of fajita meats and veggies served a stone bowl to keep your meal warm.  Not only are prices reasonable but the portions are quite generous and you’ll likely have leftovers.  Campo Azul offers $5.99 weekday lunch specials and their happy hour from 4-7 p.m. features discounts on already low-priced beers.  Stop in after work for a Mexican draft beer or jumbo margarita.  This place is very welcoming with fresh updated decor.  There is even an outdoor patio that has occasional entertainment and salsa lessons.

Healthy Fast Food Is on the Menu at Pita Fusion

Pita Fusion proudly brings healthy fast food to Round Rock. Pita Fusion has amassed quite a few regulars over the years because of quick service and clean, filling plates. The menu is somewhat limited, but every option is done right.

This restaurant creates artful pita wraps using typical lunch ingredients like ham, grilled chicken, tuna, and fresh vegetables, such as romaine lettuce, tomato, pickles, and peppers. Favorites include the falafel wrap with tzatziki and hummus, the sirloin steak wrap with onion and green peppers, and the Maui chicken wrap with ham and grilled pineapple.

Sip Bottomless Coffee, Fill Up on Pancakes at Cafe Java

If you feel like venturing out of the house for some breakfast, consider stopping by Round Rock's own Cafe Java. This cozy neighborhood cafe serves up some mean pancakes and coffee is always fresh, hot, and bottomless. The breakfast platters come with two eggs, crispy hash browns, toast, and your choice of meat: steak, ham, sausage, or corn beef hash.

Although only open for breakfast and brunch on the weekends, during the week Cafe Java stays open until 9 p.m. and is a great place to score a juicy burger or plate of fully loaded beef nachos. Regulars say the hearty homemade soups are some of the best they can find. 

The staff is friendly and quick, but Cafe Java fills up quick during the weekend, so keep that in mind if you stop by for an impromptu breakfast with friends or family.

Interstate 35 meets Louis Henna Boulevard in Round Rock, Sushi Nini is the place to go for fresh and affordable sushi. But it’s also a good spot to meet up with friends! At the sushi bar, you can watch your order being made by experienced chefs. Good sushi is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate, but regulars really like the signature Blue Midnight roll. There’s always a deal here! For lunch, selected rolls are half price. Dinner for two with appetizers, main course, and dessert is just $29.99. Now that’s a deal! The Monday to Friday happy hour offers $2 deals on beer, sake, and well drinks. With a big screen TV, you can even catch the game.

Step up to flavor at the Sizzle Indian Grill. Located in Round Rock, Sizzle brings the tastes of India to Texas. This is a casual spot but still has an ambiance with an Indian flair. It’s very comfortable! But don’t wait for a server – just walk up to the counter and order. You’ll like the menu that’s filled with traditional Indian specialties, many of which make use of the traditional bread Naan (get the popular Naanwich). Kids also like the Naan pizza! There are also a lot of spicy dishes here, like the Lamb Vindaloo. Vegetarians can also find something good. But be ready to wait – everything is made to order so it takes a little longer.
