Design Your Own Frozen Dessert at Front Porch Frozen Desserts in Round Rock

Front Porch Frozen Desserts is a family-owned and -operated self-serve frozen yogurt shop in Round Rock. Replete with Southern hospitality, this space boasts reclaimed wood walls and rustic pine tables, the latter of which were handmade by a family friend.

Front Porch’s high quality yogurt (“the true original good-for-you treat”) is sourced from Honey Hill Farms. The yogurt is crafted into inventive fro-yo flavors such as sea salt caramel pretzel, white chocolate mousse, and monkey bread. In addition to 16 flavors (some rotate seasonally), the yogurt shop has more than 90 toppings from which to choose. If you’d prefer something non-dairy, Front Porch Frozen Desserts serves sweet and refreshing sorbet. French press coffee, made with fair trade, locally roasted beans, is also on offer.

“Hair of the 3-Legged Dog”: An Austin Day Party on March 19

With so many great events coming up next week in Austin, it can be hard to figure out what to attend. So, here's a suggestion: "Hair of the 3-Legged Dog." This event's presented by The Austin Chronicle (and sponsored by Greystar), and it's named after the Chronicle's mascot Hank.

It takes place on Thursday, March 19 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and brings food, drinks, and fun to The Liberty Bar on East Sixth Street in Austin. Four local artists will play music at the event: Sweet Spirit, Anya, Bop English, and Flesh Lights. There'll also be snacks from Tacodeli, Rhythm Superfoods, Baked By Amy's and more to fuel Austinites for another day of SXSW.

The theater shows releases that are not necessarily new, but if you missed a movie when it was popular or wanted to avoid paying full price for a ticket, this is the place for you!

Inside Cinemark Round Rock Discount Movies 8, the atmosphere is just what you’d expect from a discount movie theater. The seats are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the place is clean, and food prices fall relatively in line with other theaters in the area. The crowd is typically more casual than fancy, upscale theaters, but for the price of the ticket and the friendly service, this place can’t be beat.

The shop itself is just as high quality as its yogurt, featuring walls constructed out of reclaimed wood from all over Texas and tables handcrafted out of reclaimed long leaf pine to create a uniquely modern, rustic look. Front Porch Frozen Desserts does a great job of creating a casual, welcoming atmosphere while still taking the quality of its desserts extremely seriously.
