“Hair of the 3-Legged Dog”: An Austin Day Party on March 19

With so many great events coming up next week in Austin, it can be hard to figure out what to attend. So, here's a suggestion: "Hair of the 3-Legged Dog." This event's presented by The Austin Chronicle (and sponsored by Greystar), and it's named after the Chronicle's mascot Hank.

It takes place on Thursday, March 19 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and brings food, drinks, and fun to The Liberty Bar on East Sixth Street in Austin. Four local artists will play music at the event: Sweet Spirit, Anya, Bop English, and Flesh Lights. There'll also be snacks from Tacodeli, Rhythm Superfoods, Baked By Amy's and more to fuel Austinites for another day of SXSW.

Cinemark Round Rock Discount Movies 8: Bargain-Priced Blockbusters in Austin

Cinemark Round Rock Discount Movies 8 is a dollar theater, and while its amenities aren't exactly state-of-the-art, the theater remains an excellent place to bring children for a fun family night out. The theater shows releases that are not necessarily new, but if you missed a movie when it was popular or wanted to avoid paying full price for a ticket, this is the place for you!

Inside Cinemark Round Rock Discount Movies 8, the atmosphere is just what you’d expect from a discount movie theater. The seats are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the place is clean, and food prices fall relatively in line with other theaters in the area. The crowd is typically more casual than fancy, upscale theaters, but for the price of the ticket and the friendly service, this place can’t be beat.

This stylish shop serves sorbet and frozen yogurt made with real milk and fruit purees and sourced from Honey Hill Farms, and the yogurt is certified to contain live and active cultures. Front Porch also offers more than 90 different topping choices to jazz up your already delicious yogurt, from fresh fruits to syrups and even crushed candy pieces.

The shop itself is just as high quality as its yogurt, featuring walls constructed out of reclaimed wood from all over Texas and tables handcrafted out of reclaimed long leaf pine to create a uniquely modern, rustic look. Front Porch Frozen Desserts does a great job of creating a casual, welcoming atmosphere while still taking the quality of its desserts extremely seriously.

The Yoga Room: A Round Rock Yoga Studio

Blue Velvet: A Vintage Clothing Store with 20 Years of History

Toy Time: Where It’s Always Time to Play

Just about every store in the Austin area is a bit quirkier than most, and Toy Time is one of those truly unique establishments. This independent toy store carries a wide selection of toys that you won’t find at most big box toy stores, and it even offers pop culture memorabilia that adults will love, as well.

The colorful, jam-packed shop is small, but it’s filled to the brim with children’s dolls and toys.
