November 17, 2016 | trioonline
The weekend after Thanksgiving is the ultimate holiday season kickoff, and Simsbury Celebrates must be a part of your weekend to-do list. The event is returning for the 15th year on Saturday, Nov. 26, and will unite the town in celebration. The attractions take over multiple buildings and spaces, with participation from more groups than you can count on your fingers and toes.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. with activities for all ages running simultaneously. In 2015, some event highlights included a sensory experience with the Minions at Parson’s Study & Library, makers' workshops at the Simsbury Historical Society, Journey of Yoga demonstrations in the Richman Building Parking lot, Christmas Cafe at Palmer Hall in First Church, pony rides, dance performances and bands, among many other attractions. This year, Simsbury Celebrates will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display!
