Stock Up on Fresh, Seasonal Produce at Tulmeadow Farm

July 20, 2017 | trioonline

Tulmeadow Farm in West Simsbury has been in the Tuller family for more than two centuries. The local Tuller clan took to tilling the land in 1768 in Connecticut. As agriculture started to dwindle, making way for industrial endeavors, Tulmeadow Farm remained strong by beginning to offer its fresh foods directly to the public via a farmstand and then a market.

Today, the Farm Store is open all year long, doling out produce fresh from the field. In June, plump tomatoes, vibrant cucumbers, and crisp peppers come from the greenhouses. In July, sweet corn, green beans, zucchini, squash, and eggplant flourish in the fields (to name just a few). Come to Tulmeadow Farm's store to take home a harvest's worth of fresh food home. The Farm Store also offers ice cream fresh from the farm, which Hartford Magazine's staff and readers agree is some of the best around.
