The exact makeup of the menu at @TheBarn really depends on the day. Each morning, its chef builds the menu anew with ingredients reaped from local markets around the Simsbury region. Although some standard steaks, seafood, and small plates typically make the cut, there's always something new to try, too.

The list of starters is extensive, so peruse it while you sip on a glass of wine. The mussels with chorizo and white wine might make the perfect accompaniment to the wine in your glass, or perhaps an order of the calamari with lemon harissa sauce is the best way to begin your meal. Regardless of the small plate you select, make sure that you save some room for a 12-ounce NY strip steak smothered with sea salt-peppercorn butter, pan-seared scallops in a sour pineapple reduction, or the duck breast embellished with an orange honey blossom reduction.
