CuriOdyssey: A Science and Wildlife Center for Kids
January 6, 2015 | sack
As a place for kids to be entertained and have fun while they're learning, CuriOdyssey is a family-friendly destination in San Mateo. This San Mateo museum features a number of interactive, science-based exhibits that help children understand phenomena like gravity, echoes, and magnets. Kids are invited to exercise their curiosity by exploring how shadows are cast, experimenting with how mirrors reflect in a periscope, and by building bridges in a sand box.
CuriOdyssey is also home to a number of animals, many of whom have been rescued and rehabilitated from life-threatening situations in the wild. Kids will love watching a playful otter slide down the muddy banks of a pond before splashing through the shallow water or watching the museum's two bobcats frolic and play with each other in their rocky habitat.
CuriOdyssey also regularly plays host to special family events, animal shows, and summer camps, so be sure to check the website for a current schedule of events.
