Anyone interested in local brewing (or just interested in drinking beer) should check out the San Mateo County Brewery Festival. Now in its second year, the festival will feature all 12 of the area alehouses (made up of ten breweries and two cider houses), together for the first time!

It takes place in an intimate location, about a 20 minute drive from Hillside Square. Visitors can count on meeting and mingling with brewers, learning about their techniques, and finding out about what kinds of new offerings they're developing. This event sold out the presale tickets last year, so make sure to get yours in advance. You can buy tickets at the door, but because of the smaller-scale location, you may have to wait for people to leave before you can get in. Admission is $30. This festival is part of Silicon Valley Beer Week, so there are numerous of other events in the area, too!
