Test Your Athletic Limits at CorePower Yoga
June 29, 2018 | sack
When you want to bring the heat to your fitness routine (literally), head to CorePower Yoga in San Mateo. The yoga studio takes your typical Vinyasa-style yoga, which features a fast pace and smooth transitions, and kicks it up a notch by cranking the temperature of the room. Depending on your level of practice, you'll encounter a different temperature and challenge at class.
If you're totally new to yoga, start with a C1 class. The room remains unheated so that you can focus solely on mastering the poses and breathing techniques of Vinyasa yoga, and then weave them together into a cohesive flow. The next class, C1.5, kicks the heat up to 85 or 90 degrees and adds a few more challenging sequences, while C2 and C3 unfold in temps hovering between 95 and 98 degrees with even more advanced poses. When you'd rather unwind than push your body to the brink, try a slow-moving, unheated CoreRestore class instead.
