Boutique Coffee opened its doors on East 4th Avenue in San Ramon early this May. Throughout the summer, downtown residents and nine-to-fivers have celebrated the arrival of a true third-wave coffee shop in the neighborhood.

While you can get a decent cup of coffee at a lot of places, the reason many folks go to a specialty coffee shop is because of the quality of the beans and roasts, the expert preparation of espresso drinks, and the comfort and atmosphere of the shop itself. Boutique’s beans are sourced from respected local roasters in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, and Kahnfections Pastries provides the shop’s baked goods each day (the morning bun and bacon cheddar biscuit come highly recommended). In terms of coffee, house specialties include the comfort latte with honey, cinnamon and vanilla and the matcha latte. The clean and cozy seating area has abundant outlets and free Wi Fi.
