Try Japanese Desserts at Uji Time

It’s Uji Time! You can make just about any time of day Uji Time when you visit this unique Japanese dessert shop on South B Street in San Mateo. 

Uji Time serves a soft cream taiyaki dessert that is a cross between soft-serve ice cream and traditional taiyaki fish-shaped cakes. The soft cream flavors probably aren’t what you’re expecting: choose from black sesame, matcha, or tofu, along with the occasional seasonal flavor. Get the soft cream on a cone or cup, or go deluxe with your cream treat and have it mounded on a taiyaki cake. The taiyaki are made in-house, and are the perfectly soft and not too sweet foil to the rich soft cream topping.  Uji Time also serves mochi in three flavor categories: traditional, exotic, and Americana.
