Sibby’s Cupcakery, situated a few blocks south of downtown San Mateo, specializes in custom cupcakes made the old-fashioned way, baked to order from scratch. The cupcakery was founded in 2004, but Sibby began her baking career at age four, making blueberry-peach pies with her mother in Topeka, Kansas. 

Regular cupcake flavors include Coconut Snowball, Grandma’s Chocolate Tea Cake, Lemon Drop, Carrot Cinnamon, and more. For those that can’t decide, order a Sibby’s Sampler Pack, which includes two special flavors of the month plus some of their favorite classics. The current flavors of the month include Grapefruit Passion (fresh-squeezed grapefruits, homemade grapefruit curd, and topped with passion fruit cream cheese frosting) and Neapolitan (vanilla cake with sprinkles baked inside and topped with a swirl of vanilla buttercream, strawberry cream cheese, and chocolate fudgy frosting). There are also several gluten-free options available.
