Sunday Suppers East Bay – HOPE Collaborative @ Pizzaiolo
April 8, 2015 | sack
Restaurateur Charlie Hallowell, in collaboration with Event Coordinator Lauren Greis, is launching his newest project 'Sunday Suppers' – this series of gatherings will celebrate and support community organizations located in the East Bay. Local favorite restaurants will host 11 fundraising dinners from May 2014 to April 2015. The goal of 'Sunday Suppers' is to raise money each month for a different East Bay organization working on behalf of the community.
In April 2015, we will be supporting HOPE Collaborative, a group of public agencies, community-based organizations, and Oakland residents working together to promote the health and well-being of families and youth in Oakland. HOPE's mission is to create community driven and sustainable environmental change that will significantly improve the health and wellness of Oakland's flatland residents most impacted by social inequities. The HOPE Collaborative envisions vibrant Oakland neighborhoods that provide equitable access to affordable, healthy locally grown food; safe and inviting places for physical activity and play; and sustainable, local economies all to the benefit of the families and youth living in Oakland neighborhoods with the greatest health disparities.
Diners enjoy a $100 prix-fixe, multicourse, family-style dinner, with house wine included. Two thirds of the dinner ticket proceeds will be donated to the organization, with a $10,000 goal. A signature cocktail may be ordered throughout the night at the cash bar – 100% of the proceeds will also be donated to the organization.
