San Mateo Bacon and Brew Festival: Sudsy Pours and Salty Pork Make the Perfect Pair This Weekend!

October 7, 2015 | sack

Bacon blue fries. Bacon empanadas. Chocolate bacon. You probably never knew that pork could play so many parts. But the versatility of the crispy, salty morning staple will be extremely obvious at the San Mateo Bacon and Brew Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10. It's slated to unfold at San Mateo Central Park, less than two miles away from Hillsdale Square.

The pork-centric fest features local restaurants and food trucks from all around San Mateo, each known for distinctly different cuisines. Whether the establishments specialize in Korean barbecue or ice cream, they all have to find a way to incorporate bacon into their fest-day menu—hence the many unique culinary creations. And to wash down the bacon-y treats? Suds from Lagunitas Brewing Company, 10 Barrel Brewing Co., and many other well-known breweries. Will you be there?
