Less than two miles from Hillsdale Square is Village Hummus, a new restaurant that specializes in the flavors of the Middle East — think falafel, chicken shawarma, schnitzel, roasted eggplant, and Israeli-style hummus.

After much anticipation, the restaurant is finally open and serving delicious Middle Eastern dishes Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The rave reviews on Yelp speak to the fresh ingredients including hot pita served right out of the oven. And with hummus in the name, you know this place has a strong command of the dish. You won’t find grocery store-style hummus here — you'll find authentic, flavorful hummus topped with beef or hard-boiled eggs.

The prices are affordable at this new restaurant, too, with many of the falafel platters ringing in at just around $8.
