If the online reviews are any indication, The Ravioli House is one of San Mateo’s best-loved casual restaurants, so consider heading over the next time you’ve got a hankering for something tasty. The ravioli which gives this place its name is made on-site every day, and you can enjoy a single portion served in the restaurant itself, or you can buy a box to prepare at home for the whole family.

House-made ravioli varieties include a traditional meat and mushroom mix, a combination of chicken, zucchini and spicy Sicilian sausage, as well as a cheese-only version. Choose marinara, Bolognese, or pesto sauce to top it off and you’re all set. If ravioli just isn’t your style, however, don’t worry; this place serves a lot more than just that. Regulars also praise the value and the quality of the deli sandwiches and salads (especially the pastrami and pulled pork).
