The Summer Shack may sound like a one-season gig, but the casual restaurant keeps Dedham residents' bellies full year-round. Chef and owner Jasper White builds a menu of surf and turf with New England seafood that's sourced from Summer Shack’s own licensed wholesale company.

Seafood lovers can expect a raw bar, seafood chowders, and live lobster and crabs, while fried chicken, barbecue ribs, and prime hanger steak will appeal to landlubbers. And for the pickiest of eaters, the lunch menu offers up corn dogs, hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches.

The soft yellow siding and blue awnings do give the exterior a shack-esque look, but the inside is anything but. The main dining room is filled with sleek hardwood floors and cozy booths below a cartoon drawing of marching foods. The bar area has enough high top tables to accommodate up to 100 people for cocktail parties.
