Going to the movies is a time-honored tradition, and it’s always nice to make the experience a bit more special. If you live in the Austin area, check out Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to do just that. The movie theater is located just around the corner from Lamar Union Apartments and has options for dining and drinking while enjoying your movie. A full menu is available both at your seat in front of the big screen as well as at The Highball Restaurant right next door.
Throughout the course of June and July, Alamo Drafthouse presents its “Jaws on the Water” event. Guests can watch the 1975 thriller on a big outdoor screen while floating on an inner tube in an open body of water. Attendees can take part in the pre-movie beach party and enjoy food and drinks while they watch the film.
