Masraff’s: Elegant Houston Dining

A sleek, modern setting and an elegant menu of dining options are offered at Masraff’s. The expansive wine list offers a huge number of varietals by the glass and bottle to complement your meal.

Starters include sumptuous taste bud primers like Ahi Tuna Tartare with tobiko vinaigrette, Wild Mushroom Ravioli in truffled lemon sage broth, and Chilled Colossal Crab with horseradish aioli. The entrée menu features New Zealand Venison with aged balsamic blackberry glaze, Roasted Peking Duck Breast with sherry gastrique, and Coffee Rubbed Filet Mignon with bacon veal reduction, among other choices. Warm Double Chocolate Fondant with vanilla bean ice cream is just one of the tantalizing dessert offerings.

Masraff's is open Monday through Saturday.

Settle in with a martini, sake, beer, or glass of wine and a yummy starter like chipotle yuzu prawns or tuna tataki. If a plate of beautifully crafted raw fish is your thing, order the Godzilla Roll with salmon, white onion, fresh jalapeno, and green Tabasco, or the Spicy Yellowtail Roll with jalapeno, avocado, spicy sprouts, yellowtail, parmesan, tamari. The entree menu features sumptuous fare like Shichimi Snapper with shichimi spice, garlic and miso-chipotle beurre reduction, and Curried Chicken Karaage – ginger marinated chicken, deep fried and sauteed in curry sauce. Etoile Cuisine et Bar: Refined French Fare Without Pretense

Located in Houston's Uptown Park, Etoile Cuisine et Bar serves authentic French fare with a seasonal twist. With executive chef/owner Philippe Verpiand—a native of France—at the helm, French cuisine is presented sans pretense.

Regulars note that the rustic, bistro-like ambiance provides the perfect setting in which to savor Etoile's creamy lobster bisque and equally decadent foie gras or escargot. The coq au vin is elegantly presented with creamy potatoes and winter vegetables, while the Cassoulet Toulousain is a hearty dish of pork shoulder, duck confit, and beans topped with parsley bread crumbs. No meal of French fare would be complete without a glass of wine, and you can expect a lengthy list of French reds, whites, and champagne to complement your dish. Conclude your meal with the apple tart served with salted caramel and ice cream.

Etoile Cuisine et Bar serves lunch and dinner every day. The restaurant is open Sundays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, then 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner. On Fridays and Saturdays, Etoile Cuisine et Bar serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., then dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
