Babin’s Seafood House: New Orleans Style Seafood in Texas

The Gulf of Mexico provides a vast amount of delicious seafood to Texas, so it’s not surprising that in recent years a number of high-quality restaurants have opened up to capitalize on that. Babin’s Seafood House was founded to bring classic New Orleans-style seafood to hungry Texans, and they accomplish their mission with remarkable zeal. At the Woodlands location, regulars go crazy for the oysters shucked to order, zesty crawfish, and more. Although nothing is ever going to beat the experience of walking into a real New Orleans restaurant, the staff at Babin’s does their best to try, with great hospitality easing you into your meal. Babin’s is a fine choice if you’ve grown out of Red Lobster and you’re looking for something with a bit more local flavor.

Old Town Spring: Explore a Town Filled With History

There’s a lot of history disappearing every day, as developers get rid of the past to accommodate the future. Thankfully, there are still individuals who care about preserving the historic places of America for future generations. Old Town Spring is one such project, and it’s heartening to see how it’s become a social hum for Spring residents. A quaint 19th-century town located near the railroad yards, Spring’s Victorian-style houses have been carefully preserved and changed into retail establishments selling antiques, art, and more—but this is no shopping mall. Instead, it’s a fascinating historic experience that will captivate adults and kids alike. Old Town Spring is open year-round, but for the best value, visit during one of the many events they host, including the Texas Crawfish & Music Festival or Springfest, a yearly celebration of wine and art. Old Town Spring is a fascinating place to while away the hours exploring and learning about America’s past.
