Three Popular Music Apps

October 3, 2013 | cwsapts

Smartphones may have been inspired by iPods and MP3 players. But the days of storing everything you'd want to listen to as files on your device might be coming to an end. Why? Thank cloud based music services, which let you stream enormous libraries of songs and podcasts directly to your phone. Here are three apps that help you do just that:

Spotify
Spotify's free version offers an internet radio station that you curate, with periodic commercials to pay the bills. Buy a subscription and you'll nix the ads, while getting access to an unlimited amount of music which you can even play offline.

TuneIn
TuneIn helps you find radio stations you like from all over the world to listen to thanks to the library of stations. Search by location or type of station like sports, news, and music.

Stitcher
Access over 15,000 radio stations and podcasts with this app. Stitcher's algorithm helps you find new stuff to listen to, and you can even create custom playlists for easy listening in the car.
