National Community Church purchased an old neglected property on Capitol Hill that used to house a diner serving “butter and eggs” to the Union Station travelers in the early 1900’s. After 2 years of reconstruction, it reopened as Ebeneezer's Coffeehouse in 2006. It’s a modern space, with both brick and warm plaster walls. They have comfortable chairs and loveseats as well as some high tables where patrons read or work on their laptops utilizing the free Wi-Fi. It gets pretty crowded, but there is seating downstairs and you can sit at tables outside in warmer weather. Aside from delicious fair-trade coffee and espresso drinks, you can also get sodas, juice, hot chocolate and other drinks, as well as regular coffeehouse fare such as pastries, bagels, scones, croissants, biscotti, coffee cake and yogurt. They even serve sandwiches on weekdays. They rent the downstairs out for events, and also host live music. Indie and local bands are common, and the genres vary.

Warm weather is here at MassCourtDC! Of course, nothing can ruin a perfect day like bothersome allergies. If you're like millions of other Americans, you may know them well – itchy eyes, a sneeze or two and you know soon enough you’ll be miserable. Try these tips to nip allergies in the bud.

	Keep it clean
You can’t control pollen outside, but you can at least keep your house as free of pollen as possible. To prevent allergens from invading your home, wash bedding weekly in hot water, clean and vacuum regularly, and step up your air filter changes in air conditioners and your furnace during allergy season.

	Talk to your doctor
There are medications with mild to nonexistent side effects that help tame seasonal allergies before they start. If your allergies are affecting your quality of life, make an appointment with your doctor to see if there is a prescription that is right for you.

Change clothes and shower after spending time outdoors
Pollen can accumulate on clothing and in hair, so limit your exposure by getting rid of it as soon as you come inside. You should also bathe pets who spend time outside more frequently.

	Reduce clutter
Less clutter means fewer places for dust, mold and allergies to hide. Try to limit hiding places like carpets throw rugs, and regularly vacuum and wash any rugs you do have.

Wear a mask and gloves when cleaning
While a clean house will make you feel much better, the process of cleaning can throw allergens into the air and aggravate your symptoms. Protect yourself while you clean with a face mask and gloves.

	Schedule around high pollen times
Pollen counts are highest outside in the late morning and early afternoon. Try to plan your day to avoid being outside at these times.

Bistro Cacao makes you feel at home. After all it is a converted townhouse. You are immediately welcomed into the Capitol Hill restaurant by the fireplace in the entry way. The restaurant is full of small rooms, just like a house. If you can, ask for one of the semi private booths for a more romantic vibe. The menu is full of French-inspired cuisine. Come in on weekdays for lunch or everyday for dinner. On the weekends enjoy an upscale brunch. Start with an appetizer like Escargots au Beurre d'Ail and Cuisses de Grenouilles au pernod, also known as frog legs. The steamed mussels served in either a cream sauce or lime sauce is also a popular option. Make sure you save room for the delicious entree options like Duck, Lamb, or Seabass. For a special night out go for the Tasting Menu. For $75 per person you get a special designed meal from the chef. Bistro Cacao is expensive but for a special night out the price is worth it.
