Pet Policy and Etiquette Reminders

The Meridian at Pentagon City strives to provide a great place for our canine residents to call home. However, it has been brought to our attention that it may be necessary to review our policies and pet etiquette for the Meridian at Pentagon City.

Dog Park:

Residents must not allow their dogs to bark on a continuous or frequent basis in the dog park. The sounds echo (traveling loud and fast) which disturbs the apartments and neighboring communities (Embassy Suite and condos) facing the dog park. We have received multiple complaints regarding excessive barking and very loud talking so your cooperation with this matter is greatly appreciated.  As a reminder, per Arlington County Code it is unlawful to permit a dog to create a frequent or continued noise disturbance within a nearby dwelling unit.

Residents must remain in the dog park at all times with their dog. Dogs should not be left unattended at any point in time.

Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park.

Per Arlington County Code, residents must remove dog waste and dispose of it properly 24-hours a day. Please make sure you remove all waste prior to departing the dog park.

We Understand Accidents Happen:

We understand accidents happen. However, if your pet does have an accident in a common area such as an elevator, lobby, hallway, etc. please do not ignore it. Pet owners are required to clean up after their own pet at all times. For your convenience, paper towels, cleaner and disposable dog bags are available at the front desk. After clean-up, please let us know the location so we may use additional methods to sanitize the area.

Control of Pets in Common Areas:

Residents must be in control of their dog at all times. Please do not permit the leash to extend more than 2-3 feet from your body. Dogs should be kept at the resident’s side and not allowed to wander around or greet other residents. Even if your pet is really friendly, not everyone is fond of dogs. This puts the other resident in an uncomfortable position when
greeted, jumped on or sniffed by your pet. Dogs must be secured by a leash and controlled at all times while on the property or secured in an appropriate carrier.

Residents must have their dog on a leash at all times in all common areas. This includes hallways, garage levels, and entering/exiting the dog park, etc.

Grounds:

As a courtesy to our landscapers and porter staff, please do not curb your pet in the flowerbeds and landscaping. Please remind dog walkers and all household occupants of this policy as they are often noticed curbing pets in the landscaping. Per the pet addendum, violations will result in an automatic penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00).

Visiting Pets:

Under no circumstances are visiting pets permitted on the property or in an apartment. All pets must be registered with the Leasing Office in advance.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and thank you for your assistance in making the Meridian at Pentagon City a great place to live for ALL residents.
