There isn’t a theater chain in America that’s as iconoclastic as the Alamo Drafthouse. This Texas institution has made a name for itself with programming ranging from Hollywood blockbusters and art films to old-school B-movies. The San Antonio outpost continues the high standard of quality that the other theaters have established, with a diverse calendar that offers a little something for everyone. “Weird Wednesdays” feature some of the most bizarre programming at any theater, bringing back obscure '70s action flicks, foreign oddities, and more.

The real draw here is the drinking and dining experience, though. As you’d expect from the name, draft beer is served throughout the screenings, along with food. Go for the excellent burgers (the hatch green chile is a favorite) or the remarkably good pizzas, including a spicy grilled eggplant and jalapeno pie.
