If you’re hoping to spend the day outside and enjoy your local neighborhood at the same time, check out Little Elm Park. The park is located along Lake Lewisville and has tons of activities for local residents to keep busy in the nice weather. It's also conveniently just a few miles from Orion McCord Park.

The park includes hiking and biking trails as well as volleyball courts and other sports fields. One of the main attractions of Little Elm Park, however, is the swimming beach. The beach is closed off from boat traffic and open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. Don't miss The Lighthouse Grill, a nearby food stand serving hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and sweets to hungry swimmers. If you choose instead to bring your own ingredients for a meal and have a picnic, there are tables and picnic areas scattered throughout the park.
