Pollo Regio has been one of the area's best spots for delicious chicken ever since its founder set up a trailer with a charcoal grill in Austin and cooked his now-famous marinated chicken. He regularly sold out by noon each day, so he decided to open additional locations of his chicken stop. Today, there are numerous Pollo Regio locations throughout Texas including many in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There is even a shop in Little Elm that is only a half-mile from Orion McCord Park.

The menu at Pollo Regio focuses mostly on charcoal-grilled chicken, with options like a whole chicken, half chicken, and wings—and the platters tend to include beans, rice, and tortillas.
