The 108 acres sitting across the street from McKinney High School belong to a beloved local park: the Towne Lake Recreation Area. The acreage encompasses a huge variety of things to do, from fishing off the pier to paddle-boating around the lake. So pack a picnic basket and head here to enjoy this local park this summer.

You can enjoy your lunch at one of the two picnic shelters or just spread out a blanket on the grass and soak up the sunshine by the 22-acre lake. Play a round of sand volleyball on one of two courts or enjoy some horseshoes with friends. You can even play a full round of disc golf thanks to Towne Lake's 18-hole course, so be sure to check out this eventful neighborhood park this summer!
