Honor the Heroes of September 11th at A Day of Remembrance
September 7, 2016 | orion
It's been almost 15 years since a day that shook the United States to its core: a day that brought indescribable grief; a day that inspired unprecedented unity; a day that unfortunately added a new chapter to history books. September 11, 2001 forever changed the nation with the destruction of the World Trade Centers, a blow to the Pentagon, and a deadly plane crash in rural Pennsylvania. Now 15 years later, the country continues to heal and mourn the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost.
On Sunday, September 11th in McKinney, the heroes from that day will be honored at A Day of Remembrance. Held at the McKinney Boyd High School, this memorial begins with a reading of the names of the people who died in the attacks on September 11th, all 2,996 of them. At 6:30 p.m., the rest of the ceremony begins, led by the City of McKinney Public Safety, the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Leadership McKinney, and KLAK-FM 95.7. Honor those who perished on that fateful day when you attend this event.
