Scare on the Square Celebrates Halloween with Costumes, Candy, and More

October 21, 2016 | orion

The Halloween spirit will be palpable at Scare on the Square, an afternoon of Halloween fun in McKinney. From 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 31st, Downtown McKinney puts on a major Halloween celebration with a plethora of events for festival guests. Festival attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest Halloween attire and head out for trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. The busy downtown area will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 2 p.m. on Monday to allow children and revelers to enjoy the festival activities.

One of the main festival events is the costume contest, which starts at 5:30 p.m. Participants will be judged in a number of categories—you can even dress your pet in hopes of winning the Best Pet Costume prize! The winner of each category takes home a cash prize. Orion McKinney residents won’t want to miss this fun-filled event that is happening just a few minutes away.
