Sparky’s Roadside Barbecue: South Florida BBQ

October 15, 2014 2:57 pm

Since 2010 Sparky’s Roadside Barbecue has offered Miami simple but delightful BBQ. Its “Roadside” name is a bit of a misnomer: they're located downtown but the interior space tries to capture the casual and welcoming vibe of a Southern roadside eatery.

Sparky’s offers all the standard barbecue sandwiches and platters like brisket, and pulled pork, but their stand out items are the baby back ribs and chopped duck sandwich. If you prefer to add your own sauce and sample several flavors, you’ll love their many options. The hoisin and apple cider sauces are regularly available, but they are always creating new ones to mix things up a bit. Recommended sides include the mac and cheese, baked beans, and collards The banana bread pudding is worth saving room. Sparky’s also stocks a wide variety of craft beers from around the country if you prefer brew with your ‘cue.
