Fiesta Hut: The Real Thing

Fiesta Hut is the place to go to find terrific homemade Mexican fare in East Rutherford. Located across from Railroad Avenue Park, Fiesta Hut looks like a diner from the outside, because that’s what it used to be! But this family business does not serve diner food. It advertises that only “real” Mexican food is served, and after eating here, it’s hard to argue. First of all, unlike many BYOB establishments in the area, there’s a full bar. And the margaritas are a special favorite with the regulars. Everything on the menu, from the chips and salsa to the tacos, burritos and other entrees are made from scratch.

Caffe Capri: Tasty & Low-Key in East Rutherford

In the heart of East Rutherford, the place to go for delicious Italian cuisine is Caffe Capri. Located On Park Avenue between Patterson Avenue and Main Street, Caffe Capri is a casual spot for both lunch and dinner. But “casual” can still be classy, and that’s what you’ll find here. The dining room is comfortable and understated, with nice tables and brick and tile designs on the walls. And when the weather’s nice, so is the outdoor seating. It’s the perfect place to come for a low-key lunch or a family dinner! This is also a BYOB, so don’t forget your favorite bottle. Candlewyck Diner: Outstanding Diner in East Rutherford

The classic diner gets turned up a notch at the Candlewyck Diner. Located at the corner of Hackensack Street and Patterson Avenue, the Candlewyck recently went through a renovation and the place looks great! You’ll like the homey décor, with a fireplace, nice tables and plush booth seating. Regulars like to talk up the service, which seems to get better every time you come back. And everything on the menu is good because only high quality ingredients are used. Free range meats, the freshest seafood and local dairy and produce products are combined by the Candlewyck’s chef to bring you what is referred to as “Fine Diner Food.” Make sure to check out the daily blue plate specials, always a delicious bargain. The house-made soups, salads, sandwiches and platters are all good as well. It’s a great spot to bring the family!
