Sea Salt Japanese Eatery, the new sushi spot in Huntington Beach, is proud to emphasize the basics: fresh, high quality fish and traditional flavor combinations. Though this place has only been open for a few weeks, it’s already garnered positive reviews from locals running the gamut from first-time sushi newbies all the way to Japanese ex-pats.
The space itself is cozy and the service has already garnered lots of praise, which is quite a feat for a new restaurant. Regulars reserve special praise for the tempura eel sushi roll as well as the scallop and yuzu pepper sashimi. Prefer a non-seafood meal? No problem. The menu also includes noodle dishes and teriyaki bowls, as well as a handful of desserts (try the ginger creme brulee). Insider tip: for the best value, order the lunch special that includes an 8-piece sashimi special with miso soup for just ten bucks.
