Duke’s Huntington Beach Serves Classic Seaside Fare

Duke’s Huntington Beach, located right in between the Pacific Coast Highway and the beach, takes its name from Duke Kahanamoku, who introduced Californians to surfing almost a century ago. The restaurant tries to live up to his name by focusing on a relaxed, engaging atmosphere in the dining room, a high degree of energy and technical skill in the kitchen, and a decidedly beachy vibe, whether you’re outside at the Barefoot Bar or in the main dining room for a banquet event.
Predictably, the menu relies heavily on seafood, with fish tacos, coconut shrimp, and banana leaf steamed yuzu ponzu fish and shrimp. If you prefer, you can also order classic bar and grill entrees like burgers, ribs, and steaks. Happy hour specials and easy accommodations for special events make this an appealing option for group dinners or parties. Reservations normally aren’t necessary, but on weekends especially during the warmer months, it doesn’t hurt to call ahead.
