Schulz Peanuts characters were already beloved—the comic strip had already been around for more than a decade by then. The holiday special was so well-received that it became an annual tradition, and eventually spawned the touring production A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage, which is coming to The Grand Opera House on Sunday, December 23rd.
