The Space City Eggfest is essentially an excuse for chefs to show off their cooking skills on their own Big Green Eggs. You can bring yours along and take part in the competition, or simply come to sample some of the cuisines that the Big Green Eggs create. From baked goods to pizza to barbecue chicken, these grill-oven-smoker hybrids are capable of just about anything. So it's well worth the $10 admission to taste test some of the foods prepared at this year's Space City Eggfest, slated for Saturday, May 20th from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. It will be held at the Old Town Spring.

The 2nd Annual Cinco de Mile Block Party celebrates Cinco de Mayo well into the 6th of May. The bar crawl and scavenger hunt leads guests around Houston, starting at Capital Bar at 2 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m.—or as late as you can go—on Saturday.

Tickets are just $10, and they ensure you a spot in the bustling bars around town on this popular tequila-drinking day. After doing some tasting at Capitol Bar, head to Rose Gold Cocktail Den for a margarita, then enjoy dancing into the early hours. Each venue promises live music, tons of food (free tacos for the first 100 to show up), and, of course, plenty of tequila. The first 100 guests also receive a complimentary Mexican beer to get the day going.
