Check Out One of Houston’s Most Popular Art Events: Houston Via Colori

Masterpieces come to life when over 200 artists come together at the only street painting festival in the region. Houston’s signature art event for more than 10 years will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 19th and 20th, at Hermann Square at City Hall as well as in the surrounding area.

General admission is free for children and college students. Regular admission is $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the event. Both general and regular admission includes artwork viewing, a family zone, and a photo tour that will teach you how to take pictures like a pro as well as many other fun activities. The event will benefit The Center for Hearing and Speech, which aims to help children with hearing impairments.

Hone Your Cooking Skills at Il Sapore Italiano: The Art of Making Sicilian Caponata

The Italian Cultural and Community Center is devoted to celebrating Italian influence in Houston, which is why it hosts the Il Sapore Italiano program. This series of workshops teaches guests how to craft authentic Italian dishes with their own two hands, led by an expert at the community center.

Houston Egyptian Festival: Celebrating All Things Egypt

The Bayou City Art Festival Downtown Returns With Over 300 Artists This October

The annual Bayou City Art Festival Downtown returns on October 8th and 9th this year with all the fixings of a great art festival. Every year, more than 20,000 people head to downtown Houston to check out artwork by more than 300 artists. Participating artists will showcase their work in a range of categories, from photography and paintings to sculpture and mixed media.

In addition to art, the two-day event will offer a variety of fun activities. There will be food trucks lining the street, live music, and more. Admission to the festival is $25 for a two-day pass and $15 for a one-day pass. Those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase their tickets online. The festival is happening in the heart of Downtown Houston, which is just a short trip from Siena at Memorial Heights.
