This local cafe opened just a few months ago, but in its short time it has earned a number of fans and several positive online reviews. On the menu you'll find espresso drinks like shots, lattes, and cappucinos to go with tasty drip coffee. If you prefer tea, Pura has a number of options to try, and you can pair your drink with a snack like a fresh pastry. (Gluten free choices are available for those with dietary restrictions!)

The cafe space is open and welcoming, with Wi-Fi, large tables, and a brightly lit interior, making it a pleasant place to do a bit of work or simply to linger with your drink. Coffee beans are available to go, too.

If you'd like to see the place for yourself, Pura Coffee is open Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on weekends from 7 a.m. til 8 p.m.

Adkins Architectural Antiques may feel as much like a museum as an antique shop: the store aims to gather interesting salvaged materials from old buildings and homes, and it's developed a collection so compelling that This Old House magazine praised it as one of the top such shops in the country. Even if you aren't fully remodeling a home, the store's said to be a great place to browse and, perhaps, to find a few interesting decorative items to liven up your home at Siena at Memorial Heights.

In addition to large stuff for renovating homes, you can also find vintage pieces made from cast iron, stained glass, clay, stone, and more. Part of the shop occupies a 100-year-old home; the rest flows into a large warehouse space with tens of thousands of square feet to explore. If you love browsing old antiques and you appreciate the distinctive adornments of old buildings, you'll probably get a kick out of seeing the space.

You don't have to step beyond city limits to enjoy an enclave of nature. The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center at Memorial Park brings a snapshot of the wilderness to the city. Its 155 acres of wild space not only offer a calm space to unwind, but also teach guests about the local ecosystem—no matter how young or old they are.

Many locals come to the Houston Arboretum just to watch turtle and squirrels play in the warm Texas sun. However, you can also go for a hike or a leisurely stroll on the five miles' worth of trails—no admission fee necessary. On summer vacation, kids can attend Discovery Class, a week-long camp where they'll learn about the nature of their hometown. The Nature Center also offers some interesting exhibits, intended to entertain both kids and adults.

Located just a short trip from Siena at Memorial Heights, the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center might be one of the area's best outdoor destinations.

For that reason, Paulie sources all of the restaurant's beans from Houston's own Greenway Coffee Company. This ensures that they arrive freshly roasted, ready to be transformed into an espresso drink or pour-over cup of coffee for you to savor.

You might want to save coffee for dessert, and start your visit to Paulie's with a plate of house-crafted pasta or a personal thin-crust pizza. Paulie's also offers traditional Italian entrees, such as chicken piccata and shrimp scampi, and an array of paninis, salads, and sandwiches. See Romeo and Juliet near Siena at Memorial Heights at the Houston Ballet

The Houston Ballet hasn't staged a production of Rome and Juliet for nearly three decades. So when they had to the opportunity to put on Stanton Welch's fresh version of the classic drama, they jumped at the chance. If you'd like to check out the results, head to Houston's Wortham Center. Romeo and Juliet will grace its stage February 26 and 28, as well as March 1.

Scored by highly regarded composer Prokofiev and costumed by illustrious Italian designer Roberta Guidi di Bagno, the Houston Ballet's Romeo and Juliet sticks closely to the classic. However, the choreography is brand new. Yet somehow this production seamlessly blends the elements of old and new. Make the quick drive from Siena at Memorial Heights to the theater to experience the show for yourself, perhaps with a date or a group of friends in tow.

Enjoy Some Jazz near Siena at Memorial Heights at Houston’s Cezanne

If you want to catch the sultry melodies of jazz musicians at Cezanne, you'll have to carve a specific window of time out of your schedule: 9 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Those are the hours when the jazz club takes over Black Labrador Pub in Houston.

Although you can't make reservations for the jazz sets, Houstonians seem to agree that it's worth heading to Cezanne to snag a spot for the night's performances (you might want to show up around 8:30). There are two sets: the first runs until 10:15 p.m. and the second from about 10:45 until closing. Grab a drink and enjoy the sweet sounds of the highly skilled artists who grace the club. According to Yelp reviewers, you'll be almost right in the middle of the action given how close Cezanne's seating area is to the stage.

Hugo’s: Inventive Fare near Siena at Memorial Heights in Houston

Don't be scared off by the sight of "grasshoppers" on the menu at Hugo's. According to Yelp reviewers, the grasshoppers—or chapulines, as they're called—are actually delicious. Hugo's chefs pan-saute the grasshoppers and serve them with warm tortillas, guacamole, and chipotle tomatillo salsa for an appetizer that's as tasty as it is out of the ordinary. Of course, if you prefer more traditional fare, you can opt for the guacamole instead. You can order it as a side to any dish (although it's already incorporated into many of them) and customers praise it, too.

Make sure you save enough room for the main course, though, because Hugo's serves widely acclaimed ceviches. The classic comes with lime-cured red snapper, whereas the ceviche de atun features tuna, mango, and avocado in a savory-sweet combo of flavors. If you love seafood too much to decide on just one ceviche, order the trio. It comes with scallop, tuna, and red snapper ceviche mixed with pickled radish, tomato, orange, jalapeno, and a unique prickly pear marmalade. Other upscale plates include braised duck with mole, oxtail with quinoa, and slow-cooked pork with salsa.

Find French Fare near Siena at Memorial Heights at Houston’s Mockingbird Bistro

Chef and owner John Sheely says there's something different about his Mockingbird Bistro in Houston. He's made a career of crafting fine cuisine at some of the area's top restaurants, and yet his own establishment is much more casual—at least in aesthetic. With the goal of creating an environment where he himself would feel comfortable spending a laid-back evening, John used gothic-style light fixtures in the dining room, juxtaposing them against simple bistro tables and ample sunlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

For the eaters of Houston, it's all working. More than 400 of them took the time to review Mockingbird Bistro on Yelp, and the results were overwhelmingly positive. Many Yelpers point to Chef John's Hudson Valley foie gras appetizer, which comes with sweet potato puree, cippolini onion, crispy pancetta, and brioche. For dessert, they like the apple bread pudding. In between your starter and dessert, try one of Chef John's French dishes, perhaps the Rohan duck, the steak frites, or the roasted pork loin.

The International Tea Masters Association doesn't award its Tea Master certification to just anyone. Tea Masters must first complete and intense Tea Sommelier Course, and then ace a blind tea-tasting evaluation, complete a dissertation, and pass a final exam. Thia McKann of The Path of Tea underwent this rigorous training to become a Tea Master—the first and only in Texas, according to Thia.

She lends her impeccable taste to The Path of Tea in Houston, a tea house that sells only organic, fair trade leaves. There are more than 150 teas to choose from, and they often coordinate with the changing seasons. You can pick up tea in two-ounce servings, more than enough to make at least 20 cups of tea. Yelp reviewers suggest trying the coconut oolong tea, a uniquely tropical blend. It's just one of many options from the impressive roster of teas, however, which includes everything from Chinese and Japanese green teas to Indian and Sri Lankan black teas.
