The Farmer’s Table – The Earth’s Feast

“Farm to table” eating has become one of America’s hottest culinary buzzwords, with chefs from around the country singing the praises of seasonal cuisine grown as locally as possible. But don’t think that this stuff is for organic junkies only – locavores rave that food that doesn’t have to travel is superior in taste and texture. If you’re still not a believer, book a reservation at New Canaan’s The Farmer's Table for a meal that will change your mind. They grow most of their produce from their own garden in Pound Ridge and the owner’s brother operates the all-natural farm that provides their meats. It’s hard to talk about must-have dishes because the menu changes so much depending on the produce that’s fresh, but some that have won raves in the past include the spectacular duck breast with green beans, the exceptional risotto and the spicy shrimp soup, which is a revelation.
