Stepping Stones Museum: A Fun and Funky Children’s Museum

Located in Norwalk's Mathews Park, this fun and funky children’s museum has a little of everything and is a great place to bring the little ones for a day of learning and play. Every aspect of the building is forward-thinking, from the LEED certified energy efficient features to the roof garden that absorbs rainwater and cools the building. All of the exhibits are planned with the same attention to detail, with visitors raving about the “Water Works” area at the entrance, which lets kids get hands-on with fluid dynamics. Be warned: your kid will get wet, no matter how much you wrap them up. Other favorite exhibits include the fog maker, which always draws a crowd, as well as the Build It! section that lets kids explore the world of architecture and construction with a LEGO raceway, roller coaster, in-progress house and more. It might be one of the best children's attractions near Stamford Corners Apartments.

Bruce Museum: Home of History and Culture in Greenwich, Connecticut

Greenwich, Connecticut's Bruce Museum was originally built in 1853 as a private home for Francis Lister Hawks. Purchased by Robert Moffat Bruce five years later, the house served as a meeting point for the Greenwich Society of Artists from 1912 until 1926. Over the course of the rest of the twentieth century, the Bruce collected over 15,000 art objects as it transitioned into becoming a world class museum of fine art. In 1998, the Bruce Museum was accredited by the American Association of Museums, an honor shared by an elite sliver of great museums around the country. On exhibit here are paintings, sculptures, prints, along with large mineral and avian collections. Along with permanent exhibits, visitors will find an array of special exhibitions, as well. Stamford Museum and Nature Center: Delightful Instruction

One of the most delightful attractions for kids of all ages in Stamford, Connecticut, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center makes it fun to learn about agriculture, astronomy, art, and history. With a variety of hands-on exhibits, the Center delights learners with interactive instruction. One highlight is the Center's Herscher Farm, a working replica of a 19th century era farm, complete with a barn and animals like chickens, goats, pigs, and turkeys. Throughout the year the Stamford Museum and Nature Center offers classes, too; check the Center's website for information about upcoming classes and events like pumpkin carving in the fall and summer camps for kids. The Stamford Museum and Nature Center is also a gorgeous place to experience the beauty of nature, with over 80 acres of hiking trails and an elegant reception hall that's popular for weddings and other formal events.
