Fox Bros Bar-B-Q: Don’t Miss the Smoked Wings

September 13, 2016 | greystar

From cooking in their own backyard to cooking in the kitchen of a local bar, Justin and Jonathan Fox carefully climbed the rungs of the barbecue business one at a time. That doesn't mean their ascent was slow, though. From the time they began their backyard barbecues in 2000 to opening day of Fox Bros Bar-B-Q, only seven years passed—and for most of them, the brothers were selling barbecue at Smith's Olde Bar and catering events around the city.

Today, the brothers are in charge of their own kitchen at the eatery, and they take the chance to dish out some unexpected barbecue dishes. The smoked wings are, by far, the most popular thing on the menu at Fox Bros Bar-B-Q. The wings are smoked over smoldering hickory wood and doused with the house-made wing sauce, then served up with your choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing. Regulars also like the Texas fries, which are topped with brisket or pulled pork, cheese, and barbecue sauce. Save some room for a plate of short ribs, beef brisket, or smoked chicken, too.
