There may be nothing more quintessentially Southern than enjoying a slice of pie with neighbors on a wraparound porch. Porches and Pies, a classic Southern food festival, brings that experience to everyone. On Saturday, October 21st, Adair Park is set to host the fest from noon to 6 p.m.

The focal point of the food festival is, of course, the bake-off. Both professional and amateur bakers are invited to join in and show off what they can do in the kitchen, either in the category of sweet pies or savory pies. A panel of local celebrity chefs, foodies, and other judges will determine who leaves with awards, but when you buy a 10-sample tasting ticket ($5) you can also cast a vote. If you're not full after the pie tasting, grab a meal from one of the Atlanta food trucks, and then head to the live music stage to enjoy it with a side of tunes. Don't forget to stop by the artist market, either, which plays host to many handcrafted items.
