Get Some Fresh Air on Walk Maryland Day 2017

October 3, 2017 | greystar

Last year, more than 100 schools and 500 people across Maryland honored the state's official exercise—walking—by going for a stroll on Walk Maryland Day in the first week of October. This year, the Maryland Department of Health is upping the ante, aiming for a walk in each of the state's 24 jurisdictions on Walk Maryland Day 2017 on Wednesday, October 4th.

But really any walk that happens between Sunday, October 1st and Saturday, October 7th will be counted toward the Walk Maryland Day goal. So set your date, assemble a team, and arrange a walk in your town. You can invite neighbors out to walk their pets as a group, set up a nature walk at a local park, or simply ask coworkers to go for a walk around the block on October 4th. Once you arrange your walk, register on the Walk Maryland Day 2017 website to be part of the State Department of Health's goal and receive an official participation certificate.
