Earn Your Dessert at the Run for Pie 5K on Thanksgiving Day
November 21, 2017 | greystar
In perhaps one of the best marketing moves in the history of 5K runs, the Run for Pie 5K is bribing athletes and non-athletes alike to tug on their running shoes on Thanksgiving morning with the promise of pie at the finish line. Of course, chances are you'll have plenty of pie in your life on Thanksgiving, but it's unlikely that the variety at your family's Thanksgiving table will be as vast as that at the Run for Pie 5K.
Participants will convene at Glasgow Park the morning of the run and enjoy a leisurely trek through Newark at whatever pace they find comfortable. Then, at the finish line, everyone can feast on fresh pie and grab an insulated tote, perfect for conveying home any Thanksgiving leftovers later in the day. Everyone is invited to bring a non-perishable food item to the Run for Pie 5K to be doled out to those in need via the Newark Area Welfare Committee.
