Join Saint Nick Today at the Elkton Tree Lighting Ceremony
December 1, 2017 | greystar
The holiday season doesn't really begin until Santa jingles into town and lights the tree. In Elkton, Kris Kringle will do the honors on Friday, December 1st—not once, but twice. The 2017 Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at the Union Hospital's holiday tree at 5 p.m.
Santa comes to the hospital on a holiday-red fire truck and throws the switch to set its large tree aglow. After Saint Nick completes his duties at the hospital, he'll lead the crowd by foot over to light the Elkton town tree at the visitor center. Stick around after the tree lighting to enjoy some hot beverages and snacks, and perhaps snap a photo or two with the man himself. Before you leave the festivities, swing back by the hospital to grab a poinsettia to give as a gift or use to dress up your own apartment.
