On Sunda, April 29th, the Annual Wildflower Celebration at Mt. Cuba Center invites the public to come and enjoy the park's flourishing gardens and some special activities. The first 1,000 people to arrive take home a gift, a native plant. That plant will look much like the greenery you find in the gardens, which you're welcome to explore as they burst into bloom just in time for spring.
In addition to meandering around the gardens, guests can also enjoy live music all day long, beginning with a local bluegrass band at 10:30 a.m. Grab some hot food from local vendors and head to the Info Tent to grab a guide for one of five scavenger hunts. Check out the Native Orchids of Delaware Station, where you'll learn all about these flowers and how locals take care of them. You can even watch a tree-climbing demo or talk to certified arborists about the proper way to care for trees.
