Go for a Trail Ride With Fair Hills Stables

June 1, 2018 | greystar

Fair Hills Stables resides within a Maryland state park that was once frequented by a member of the locally famous du Pont family. William du Pont, Jr. would come to what's now the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area to hunt foxes with his hounds. Today, the 5,656-acre enclave offers up different outdoor opportunities, like going horseback riding.

Twelve noble steeds call Fair Hills Stables home, and they're all waiting to convey guests along the Fair Hills trails. If you've never ridden before, opt for a beginner trail ride. Your horse will clip-clop at a nice, steady, and slow pace, no trotting allowed. The intermediate trail rides navigate across terrain that is suitable for a quicker pace, so only those comfortable with trotting should try these. And then the seasoned equestrians are welcome to go on an advanced trail ride, which includes some trotting and cantering.
