Craving Something Sweet? Visit Miyako Old Fashioned Ice Cream

October 26, 2017 | sack

Miyako Old Fashioned Ice Cream is a long-running neighborhood shop in the Fillmore District offering candy, frozen treats, and sandwiches at reasonable prices. Drop in for a casual lunch of a sandwich with two sides in a variety of classic combinations, such as Hot Pastrami, Fresh Roast Beef, and Hot Turkey – all for $3.75 each. Finish it off with their specialty ice cream supplied by Mitchell’s and Dreyer’s in both unique and traditional flavors like Macapuno (coconut), Avocado, Ube (purple yam), Caramel Praline, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.

The family-run business prides itself on offering quality ice cream and snacks at the lowest prices in the area. Tom, the owner, is sort of a local legend, running the shop for 25+ years and keeping that old-timey vibe. Keep in mind that the area is street parking only and the shop is cash only.

Visit Miyako daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
