Last Rites is a Tiki Bar With Modern Flavor

July 26, 2018 | sack

The name of new bar Last Rites is a quite ominous, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a cooler spot with a more inventive drink menu that this bar near the Duboce Triangle.

Last Rites can technically be considered a tiki bar but without the cheesy kitsch. Their dangerous name is also backed up by their wickedly strong drinks, especially their signature drink. The Last Rites Cocktail is best described as a spicy Mai Tai that has a surprisingly smooth finish for how much rum it contains. Other options have as much showmanship as they do flavor, like the Lover’s Quarrel, which is served in a coconut cup with a rim set on fire with the help of high proof rum. It is also notable that Last Rites is relatively new. Last Rites was in its soft opening phase until July 1, and based on the success of its opening, it looks like Last Rites is a place that will be sticking around for a while.

Last Rites is open seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
