Nopa is a Longtime Favorite With an Ever-Changing Menu

Set on the corner of Divisadero and Hayes Streets, just a block away from Alamo Square, Nopa is tough to beat as a convenient meeting spot for friends and neighbors. The nondescript exterior of this New American concept restaurant hides its modern and attractive dining room, which features high ceilings, abundant natural light, an open kitchen, and additional balcony seating. In a city that’s always moving and changing, the fact that Nopa recently celebrated its tenth anniversary is a testament to its staying power and warm, unpretentious vibe.
The menu, overseen by head chef Laurence Jossel, is built around locally-sourced ingredients and the kitchen’s wood-fired grill. Standouts on the lunch and dinner menu include the warm goat cheese and flatbread appetizers, as well as the rotisserie herbed chicken and Moroccan vegetable tagine entrees. Don’t overlook the cocktail list, which highlights simple, hand-crafted mixed drinks.
